1900s German Copper Crescent Moon Mold
An unusual antique copper mold depicting a crescent moon with an expressive face rendered in deep relief. The exaggerated profile, with its hooked nose, smiling mouth, and flowing beard, gives the piece a wonderfully graphic and almost folkloric character.
The copper surface has developed a rich, naturally aged patina, while the reverse retains its original tin lining and hanging tab. Originally intended as a culinary or confectionery mold, it now makes a striking decorative object displayed on a wall or layered among a collection.
Marked “Gesetzlich Geschützt,” a German designation indicating a legally protected or registered design.
